Heatscope infrared heaters are designed for use in a variety of temporary use spaces such as outdoor patios, balconies, and enclosed areas including sunrooms and alfresco dining areas in restaurants.

When choosing the Heatscope infrared heater for your application there are three factors that must be considered:

  1. Is the area you want to heat/warm affected by wind?
    Is the space completely enclosed like a sunroom?
    Is it a partially enclosed space such as a private patio?
    OR is the space completely open and affected by the wind such as an outdoor dining area at a restaurant?
  2. What is the size of the area where you would like to install the Heatscope heater?
    Is it a small residential space?
    Would you like to provide warmth to an entire outdoor dining area of a restaurant?
  3. What height would you like to install the heater at? Can the heater be installed directly above the area to be warmed?
    Can the heater be lowered and if so how much can it be lowered?
    Where do you want to mount the heater, on the wall or ceiling?

The following points should be noted regardless of the application:

  • Heatscope infrared heaters must be installed at a maximum height of 13 feet and a minimum height of 6 feet (this is dependent on the type and model of Heatscope heater).
  • Heatscope infrared heaters should be installed on non-flammable material, with a minimum (distance/clearance) of .55 inches.
  • If flammable materials are near to your installation there must be a minimum of .65 inches of clearance from the unit. (See Technical Information)
